We provide what’s known as a 2-step premium carpet cleaning process. This process involves a rotary scrub & hot water extraction. The procedure is without question the most effective carpet cleaning process available at any price , but still very cost effective.

  1. After the necessary furniture is moved, the carpet is deep cleaned with what looks similar to a floor scrubbing machine. This machine is fitted with a special soft bristle brush made specifically for
deep scrubbing carpet fibers. As this brush rotates, a cleaning solution is fed down through the bristles into the dirty carpet to scrub deep and loosen the dirt, soil ,spots, spills, oils, pet stains, smoke etc. that are bound to the carpet fibers. The cleaning properties of this solution along with the weight of the machine and the friction of the brush loosen much more soil than a standard carpet steam cleaning can.
  2. This procedure involves what most of you would consider a standard carpet steam cleaning or hot water extraction. The carpet dirt soil, spots, spills etc. that the deep scrub has broken free from the carpet fibers are now rinsed and flushed out of the carpet along with the cleaning solution that was used to do so, leaving the carpet thoroughly rinsed and free from all contaminants.
  3. Virtually any spot or spill you may have on your carpeting will be broken loose and flushed out by this procedure. However for those stubborn spots and stains that do not come out initially AmeriClean has a suitcase full of specialty carpet cleaning products for these very spots. Long story short if it's humanly possible to get it out of your carpet AmeriClean will do so.
  4. Once that is all complete the DuPont Teflon protectant is applied to the carpet. AmeriClean will then move back all nessasary furniture.
  5. Once all of these steps are complete, a final grooming of the carpet is done with a carpet rake to work in the protectant and even up the carpet pile for more thorough drying.

The 1st step is to scrub the carpet with what looks like a floor buffer type of machine, with a special brush just for carpeting. This brush has a cleaning solution fed down through it, which dampens the upper 1/3 of the carpet fiber. The weight of the machine and brush friction combined with this specific cleaner loosen and break up all of the dirt, soil, grease, etc. in your carpet. The 2nd step of the process then flushes out all of this debris, while rinsing “steam cleaning”, and then extracting all of the excess moisture. This procedure takes a little more time than your basic “extraction only” process, but we think it’s worth it. After all, if you’re going to go to the trouble of having your carpet cleaned, you might as well end up with a clean carpet.

After a thorough cleaning you may want us to protect your carpet with DUPONT TEFLON. This will soil and stain resistance to your freshly cleaned carpet, and help keep it looking that way longer. The next time AMERI-CLEAN services your carpet it will clean up even better.

Don't Suffer From Your Allergies - Get a professional carpet cleaning to help breathe easier

AllergensHealth professionals sometimes recommend that allergy and asthma patients remove carpet from their homes.

But those recommendations are generally based on faulty assumptions. In fact, clean, dry, well-maintained carpet actually improves air quality.

Dirty carpet acts as a trap for airborne particles grounded through natural gravity. Professional Testing Labs studied the distribution of airborne dust associated with normal activities on hard and soft flooring surfaces. Their findings showed that walking on hard surfaces disturbed more particles. These particles became airborne and entered the breathing zone. In contrast, carpeted surfaces trapped more particles so that walking disturbed fewer particles.

Result: less dust in the breathing zone over carpeted floors, provided that those carpets are professionally cleaned at least twice a year.

A thorough carpet shampoo and scrubbing twice a year will help anyone who suffers from the allergies common to residents of Southwest Florida. Call AmeriClean today to see how they can help reduce the allergen levels in your carpet.

The Importance of professional Carpet Cleaning

vacuumHomeowners often assume that their carpets and upholstery are clean simply because they look clean; however, even carpets and upholstery that look spotless may have collected germs, dust and soil below the surface. To increase the life and appearance of your home carpets & furniture upholstery, you should have a professional scrub and rinse carpet cleaning AT LEAST once a year- even before you recognize visible surface dirt.

Different Options for Professional Carpet Cleaning in Southwest Florida

AmeriClean combines both Scrub and Shampoo followed by hot water extraction also known as steam cleaning

Different types

When many people in Fort Myers think of professional carpet cleaning, they think of steam cleaning, otherwise known as hot water extraction. Though this is the most common type of carpet cleaning, it is actually just one of five different methods available from professional cleaning companies in Fort Myers.

FOAM CLEANING: Along with steam cleaning, you can also foam clean carpets. Using a machine similar to a buffer, the shampoo is released onto a brush that works it’s way into the fibers of the carpet. After the application, you must wait an hour or two for it to dry. Then vacuum the entire area to remove the dirt.

It is not a complicated procedure and can work well for hallways and large traffic areas. It can be used as part of an ongoing maintenance program to keep heavily used areas cleaned. Since it is very difficult to remove all the shampoo with vacuuming, some of it stays in the carpet. Eventually this residue attracts dirt and must be removed by water extraction, steam cleaning.

SHAMPOO METHOD: This is the oldest way to clean carpets and is the 1st step used by AmeriClean of Fort Myers. Solution is fed to the brush of the buffer, which then is worked into the carpet. AmeriClean of Ft. Myers cleans a small area at a time, going over it two or three times, just like buffing a floor. Edges and corners are done by hand. The solution used to clean the carpet has brighteners in it, which make the carpet look nice. Then AmeriClean of Fort Myers extracts the shampoo with their Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning) process. If AmeriClean of Ft. Myers didn’t use the extraction eventually, the dirt would reappear and, just as with the foam method, the shampoo residue would attract dirt itself.

BONNET CLEANING: The bonnet is placed at the base of a buffer. It is then dipped into a shampoo solution first and then go over the carpet, just as if buffing a floor. The bonnet starts to get soiled. This means it is actually removing dirt from the carpet. Rinse it out, turn it over and keep working with it until it is too soiled to continue. Follow up by vacuuming the carpet once it is dry. Drying time is usually 30 minutes.

STEAM CLEANING: Now, we get to the most common carpet cleaning method and the 2nd step used by AmeriClean of Fort Myers. To really clean a carpet, deep clean a carpet, it will need to be steam cleaned at least once if not twice per year depending on the use it receives. “Steam” cleaning is really a misnomer for there really is no steam. Hot water with a cleaning solution is extracted via a wand. AmeriClean of Ft. Myers goes over the carpet a section at a time, overlapping their last pass. As the hot water is extracted, the wand is also vacuuming up the water and the dirt. Some wands have plastic hoses that are clear. When you look at the water being extracted, it often looks brown and dirty. AmeriClean of Fort Myers’ customer can see that the carpet is really being deep cleaned. It is a very good idea to vacuum the carpet first to pick up loose and surface level dirt. Since the carpet takes up to 8 hours to really dry, you cannot vacuum it afterward. However, as it dries in the Ft. Myers heat, the carpet nap rises and the result is a very clean, fresh and “new- appearing” carpet. The big advances in the water extraction method the past few years have made this one of the best ways to clean carpets. The machines are now more powerful, and, one of the best improvements, the water extraction power has been increased so that drying time is shorter.

DRY METHODS: Now the big debate starts! I have met many people in our industry who believe cleaning carpets using the dry method is the best thing since mom and apple pie. The dry system is actually a three- part procedure. First a SOLVENT is sprinkled on the carpet. It’s a powder. The directions say you must allow the powder to stay on the carpet for about 15 minutes. Then, using a special buffer with two rotating heads, you go over the carpet. This rotates the cleaning powder into the carpet. Your final step is vacuum, vacuum, vacuum; trying to remove as much as this powdered solvent as possible. As you vacuum, the powder and the dirt it has accumulated is removed. Eventually the carpet will need to be steam cleaned. Just as in all the methods mentioned above, not all the powder gets removed and it begins to attract dirt itself.

Steam cleaning is definitely an investment. Go with a professional carpet cleaning company such as AmeriClean of Fort Myers. With their 2 step scrub and rinse service, they incorporate the two best styles of carpet cleaning for all Ft. Myers residents.

Environmentally Friendly Professional Carpet Cleaning

How to Know That You Are Cleaning "Green."

Eco LabelsAre the proclamations of "natural" and "green" true? One of the trickiest aspects of evaluating the greenness of cleaners is the lack of federal oversight. Manufacturers have no legal obligation to list the ingredients in their entirety since doing so might reveal trade secrets. With more than 80,000 chemical compounds cleared for commercial purposes in the United States, the EPA only requires manufacturers to warn of toxicity. That means your all-natural X Brand cleanser may be slipping in some harmful chemical cousins under the radar. Companies cannot legally mislead consumers about the contents of their products, but there isn't a regulatory agency that defines what meets green standards. Instead, they can voluntary submit their products for review by the EPA's Design for Environment, Green Seal or other eco-labeling organizations for a stamp of approval.

Ecolabels, or third-party seals of approvals, are one of the best bets right now for deciding which household goods are truly green. The Global Ecolabelling Network defines products with ecolabels, not only better for the environment than competitors, but meet more rigorous criteria. To determine a product's worth, these third parties not only evaluate the substances, but also compare it to other market competitors. The EPA and Green Seal also have special ecolabels such as the EcoLogo that indicates no known carcinogens or mutagens among the ingredients. If you don't see a third-party stamp on the packaging, check out the list of ingredients. Many times, the closer you get to au naturalé, the more likely they truly are “green.”
